(March 29, 2012 Yuma, AZ) –Yuma Regional Medical Center welcomes Dr. Carl Myers as Chief Medical Officer (CMO)/Vice President of Medical Affairs (VPMA).
“I am pleased that Dr. Myers has joined our Administrative Team,” said Pat Walz, YRMC Chief Executive Officer. “He has worked closely with our community in a variety of positions during the past 10 years, and brings a wealth of healthcare experience that will benefit patients, physicians and staff.”
Dr. Myers most recently served as the Interim Medical Director of the Yuma Regional Cancer Center where he contributed substantially to the development of a comprehensive, community cancer program. He also recently led local efforts to improve the health and wellbeing of our community through the Healthy Yuma 2011 initiative. This effort established strong local connections, community collaboration and new focused awareness of the benefits of healthy living.
Prior to that, he served the Yuma community for seven years as an active practicing oncologist. Dr. Myers brings over 15 years of senior leadership experience, including as the founder and President of Maitri Group, Inc. a health system management consulting firm.
Dr. Myers completed his Medical Doctorate at the University of Cincinnati. He also holds an MBA from the University of Chicago. Dr. Myers is board certified in internal medicine.
