YRMC’S Volunteer Services Department Offering Scholarships

(April 2, 2013 – Yuma, AZ) Yuma Regional Medical Center's Volunteer Services Department is offering six scholarships to help individuals reach their healthcare career goals. These scholarships are made possible by the fundraising efforts of YRMC volunteers. There are six scholarships available totaling $11,000.
The Professor Howard W. Griffiths Memorial Scholarship of $1,000, given in memory of Professor Howard Griffiths by Marilyn Griffiths, a devoted volunteer at YRMC.
The Volunteer Memorial Scholarship of $2,000, given in memory of those volunteers who have nurtured the Scholarship Program.
Four $2,000 scholarships for those pursuing careers in the medical field
To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must be a Yuma County resident enrolled and/or accepted at AWC or NAU-Yuma, have a 3.0 GPA or higher, and majoring in a health-related profession. The deadline to submit an application is Friday, April 19th at 4pm. Applications are available at the Volunteer Services Department at YRMC, high school counseling offices, Arizona Western College financial aid office and at www.yumaregional.org/scholarship-information.
