Day of family fun, food and entertainment January 18 generates proceeds for local healthcare scholarships and more
(Jan. 13, 2014 - Yuma, AZ) - On Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Foundation of Yuma Regional Medical Center will host the 36th Annual Tractor Rodeo and Family Fun Day at the Wellton-Mohawk Irrigation and Drainage District Grounds. All proceeds benefit Foundation programs, including local healthcare scholarships, Tri-Valley Ambulance and the School-Based Health Care Mobile Clinic, which provides basic medical care for the uninsured and underinsured elementary age children of Yuma County.
“In the last 15 years, this event has raised over $500,000 for the east Yuma County community,” said Wayne A. Steffey, executive director of the Foundation of Yuma Regional Medical Center. “The Tractor Rodeo is coordinated every year by a group of volunteers dedicated to the Foundation’s mission. The Foundation and those served by the funds raised at the Tractor Rodeo are grateful for their continued support.”
The Tractor Rodeo and Family Fun Day features food vendors, an antique tractor pull, live entertainment, a new equipment showcase and vintage cars and antique displays. Families can visit the Yuma Regional Medical Center Wellness Clinic, go on horseback rides and enjoy the children's tractor event, clowns, balloons and much more.
To reach the Tractor Rodeo in Wellton, take Interstate 8 east to Exit 30 and follow the signs. Admission is $5 for adults; children and students with identification are free. A $3 breakfast of sausage gravy and biscuits will be served from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., with a barbecue lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The cost for lunch is $6 for adults, $3 for children 12 and under.
