- Infection control
- Lab studies
- Diabetic education
- Evaluation of vascular (circulatory) System
- Pain management
- Removal of dead tissue
The YRMC Wound Care Center has been recognized by Diversified Clinical Services (DCS), the world's leading wound care management company, for providing excellent care. DCS has honored the Wound Care Center with both the Robert A. Warriner III M.D. and Center of Distinction awards. Each of these prestigious awards is based on achieving outstanding patient outcomes, including high rates of wound healing and patient satisfaction.
The Wound Care Center is equipped with six treatment rooms and four hyperbaric oxygen chambers. As part of the treatment plan, patients and/or their caregivers are given detailed instructions on home care of the wound, including information on proper diet, dressing or bandage changes, and how to protect the wound from further injury.
The Southwest Alliance for Excellence (SWAE) has recognized Yuma Regional Medical Center for its process to prevent hospital acquired pressure ulcers, an important hospital-wide initiative lead by YRMC’s nursing staff and Quality Department. YRMC is one of five organizations in Arizona, Nevada and Utah to be recognized as a Performance Excellence Program recipient.
The Showcase in Excellence Award acknowledges teams for a specific process that uses an innovative or cutting-edge approach. Processes may be a routine process performed in an extraordinary manner used as a model in comparison to competitors or result in exceptional performance.
