Diagnostic Procedures One of the first steps toward identifying the underlying cause of a patient's heart condition is to undergo one or more tests. The staff at Heart Center of Yuma uses advanced technology to conduct the following diagnostic tests:
- Angiogram (carotid, coronary, peripheral, pulmonary and renal)
- Aortagram
- Electrophysiology Studies
- Heart Catheterization
Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Testing Non-invasive cardiovascular testing procedures use electronic monitoring, sound waves and other technologies to measure how well a patient's heart is functioning. The non-invasive tests and procedures available are:
- Cardiac Monitoring
- Echocardiogram
- Electrocardiogram (EKG)
- Tilt Table Study
Minimally Invasive Therapeutic Procedures Minimally invasive procedures are performed using one or more small incisions rather than the larger incisions required for traditional surgery. These smaller incisions allow the patient to recover more quickly. Minimally invasive procedures for the treatment of heart disease available are:
- Atherectomy
- Balloon angioplasty
- Bi-Ventricular Pacemaker Implant
- Cardiac catheterization
- Cardioversion
- Carotid stenting
- Coronary stenting
- ICD (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator) insertion
- Impella (Left Ventricular Assist Device)
- Intra-aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
- Loop Recorder Implant
- Pacemaker implantation
- Percutaneous vena cava filter
- Pericardiocentesis
- Peripheral Leg Stents/Angioplasty
- Renal Stents
