Preceptor Profile

Jody Agena, Pharm.D., MBA

Jody graduated from the University of Southern California in 2002 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Gerontology. In 2009 he received his PharmD and MBA from the University of Maryland in 2009. Prior to joining the YRMC staff in 2011, Jody did clinical research at Columbia University and was a Clinical pharmacist and preceptor at a teaching hospital in New York. Jody is a full-time oncology pharmacist at the Yuma Regional Cancer Center. He is responsible for the medication related portions of investigational drug studies and staff education. When Jody is not working, he enjoys outdoor activities and working out.

Bob Goodwillie, Pharm.D., MBA

Bob Goodwillie has been the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Director since 2009. He is also the Assistant Pharmacy Director and Clinical Coordinator since he started at YRMC in 2001. He received his PharmD from the University of Arizona in 1998 and completed a pharmacy practice residency at the Cincinnati VAMC in 1999. He subsequently worked as an ICU critical care pharmacist, staff pharmacist and compounding pharmacist. In addition, Bob has done consultant pharmacy, retail pharmacy, rehab pharmacy and has been published 19 times. Bob has precepted over 200 students from 10 different colleges of pharmacy. He also precepts for the research, staffing, and teaching / preceptor development rotations within the residency. When he is not practicing pharmacy, Bob enjoys reading, church, Boy Scouting, woodworking, photography and family.

Angela Hamman, Pharm.D.

Angie is a recent graduate of the true OSU, Oregon State University in 2012 and moved to Yuma to work at YRMC shortly after. Here at YRMC, she wears several hats as a clinical pharmacist, and she is now the go-to person for our ambulatory Anticoagulation Clinic. Angie has always been interested in direct patient care. While she was a student, she worked mostly in a community pharmacy setting so the Anticoagulation Clinic was a natural fit for her because she gets to utilize her clinical knowledge as well as get to know the patients. However, Angie also likes being able to work everywhere else in the hospital, and she is known for her gnarly skills within the verification queue as the "hot seat" pharmacist. Besides work, she is an avid sports fan and will always cheer on the true OSU. Angie also enjoys cooking and traveling all over the country.

Mike Hanson, RPh

Mike graduated from the University of Iowa in 1980. He has spent most of his career working in various departments within hospital pharmacy in hospitals of all sizes. Mike's areas of expertise include pain/palliative care/hospice, TPN & surgical patients, renal patients/peritoneal dialysis, compounding, and internal medicine. He enjoys working outside, tending to his horses, and shooting rattlesnakes on occasion.

Mark Jordan, Pharm.D.

Mark Jordan is a proud graduate of the University of Arizona having earned both Doctor of Pharmacy and Bachelor of Arts in Education degrees. He joined the Yuma Regional Medical Center staff in 2001 as a clinical pharmacist after previous work as an educator in the Yuma public schools. At YRMC, Mark has provided service across all levels of patient care, from critical to transitional care units. He has been involved in the palliative care team, the development of the ICU specialist position, and as a NICU liaison, he accomplished the standardization of orders and preparation procedures for medications used in the NICU. Mark is the pharmacy director YRMC's Outpatient Pharmacy where he precepts students and residents as part of the ambulatory care experience. His experiences at YRMC as well as a pharmacy director for an inpatient rehabilitation hospital, and consultant pharmacist for local skilled nursing facilities and a free-standing endoscopy center provide a rich background for student and resident learning. Mark has called Yuma home since 1975 and enjoys our desert community with his wife and young children.

Deanna Manarang, Pharm.D.

Deanna graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelors if Science in Physiological Science in 2001 and her PharmD in 2005. She completed a Community Pharmacy Practice residency at Purdue University. Following her residency Deanna was employed by CVS where she was a district manager over 19 retail pharmacies. She joined the YRMC pharmacy team in 2013. Her background in ambulatory care gives her a great perspective as she precepts the Out Pharmacy Patient Services rotation. Deanna is a Yuma native and enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, swimming and outdoor activities.

James McKenzie, Pharm.D.

James received his PharmD from the University of Michigan in 2011. He moved to Yuma shortly thereafter and has worked in every department within our pharmacy. Clinical Informatics has always been an interest for James, so he was extremely excited to get an opportunity to become Epic Willow certified at YRMC. He is currently one of our Clinical Informatics Specialists who works behind the scenes with EPIC, but he also works half time within our pharmacy department. His hobbies include playing golf and watching any and all Michigan sports. GO BLUE!

Gary Ocheltree, RPh

Gary graduated from the University of Iowa in 1974. He has worked at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics from 1975-2002, and he has also functioned as a pharmacist supervisor for 3 years, Assistant Director of Pharmacy for 3 years and Automation Specialist for 3 years (installing and supervising operation of Pyxis med stations and Pyxis Homerus Robot). Gary's repertoire includes experience in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics/NICU, and Critical Care. He has been working primarily as the ICU clinical pharmacist at YRMC since September 2002, but he also rotates throughout most of the other positions within our pharmacy.

Chuck Redfearn, RPh

Chuck graduated with his RPh in 1975 from St. Louis College of Pharmacy. He has experience is all areas of pharmacy including retail pharmacy for 7 years, rehab hospital, a children's clinic, a psych clinic, the VA for 4 years, and hospital pharmacy (both small and large institutions). Chuck was also the director of pharmacy for 9 ½ years in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Chuck has been at YRMC for 14 years, and he has precepted various students and residents from all over the country. His areas of expertise include internal medicine, critical care, and infectious disease. When Chuck is not working at the hospital, he enjoys spending time with his grandchildren.

Jake Schwarz, Pharm.D., BCPS

Jake originally received his Bachelor of Science and Engineering degree from Arizona State University in Computer Systems Engineering before he decided to do a career change. He then received his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy in 2010 and went on to complete a PGY-1 residency at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland, FL. After completing his residency, he then took a position at Phoenix Children's Hospital for 19 months where his main clinical roles were in the pediatric ICU, infectious disease/antibiotic stewardship and emergency department. Jake's main areas of expertise include Critical Care, Infectious Disease, and Pediatrics and his certifications include BCPS, ACLS and PALS.

Jake is a competitive amateur ballroom and Latin dancer in his time away from work. Other hobbies include SCUBA diving, snowboarding, playing acoustic guitar, going to concerts and musicals and watching DVDs (he has over 300 movies).
