Dr. Ed Paul joins Dr. Ram Krishna in representing YRMC at the state level
Yuma, AZ – April 24, 2014 –Ed Paul, M.D., Yuma Regional Medical Center (YRMC) Director of Medical Education, has been selected by the Arizona State Senate to serve on the Arizona Medical Board in 2014. The Board is comprised of 12 members: eight physicians and four public members, including a licensed registered nurse. The Governor appoints each Board member, and Dr. Paul joins longtime member and fellow YRMC physician, Dr. Ram Krishna, M.D., in representing our community.
"In addition to serving as an exemplary representative of YRMC and our community, Dr. Paul is a mentor to the physicians in our residency program, which he founded alongside Dr. James Lenhart in 2009," said Pat Walz, President & CEO of YRMC. Dr. Paul recently served as President of the Arizona Academy of Family Physicians (AzAFP) and is a board member, national delegate, and Chair of the Legislative Affairs Task Force for that organization. He also serves on the Advisory Council of the National Center for Medical Legal Partnership based at George Washington University. In 2012, he was awarded the prestigious honor of Arizona Academy of Family Physicians (AzAFP) Physician of the Year. Dr. Paul is a graduate from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and completed his residency training at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix.
The Arizona State board's mission is to protect public safety through the judicious licensing, regulation and education o all physicians. The Arizona Medical Board licenses and regulates more than 22,430 physicians. Of those, approximately 13,508 practice in the state.
