Yuma, AZ- June 3, 2014- For two weekends in a row, the 24th Street entrance to Yuma Regional Medical Center will close for construction. Beginning at 5 a.m. on Saturday, June 7-Sunday, June 8 and again on Saturday, June 14-Sunday, June 15, all non-emergency patients and visitors must access the YRMC campus via the hospital's Avenue A entrance. Following the first weekend closure, the driveway will remain unpaved but will still be accessible to vehicles until the driveway closes again June 14-15.
Access to and around the Emergency Department and Main Entrance of the building will remain open and accessible via the Avenue A entrance. Visitor parking on the top level of the new patient garage will also be available, offering direct access to the Main Entrance and ED. Additionally, YRMC will have security guards and shuttle drivers on campus to direct patients and families to the appropriate area of YRMC.
McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. and YRMC will be repaving and installing new concrete curbs on the main entrance driveway. Over the next several months, YRMC will experience additional road closures and disruptions. We will continue to inform our patients, staff and community of anticipated disruptions to ensure ease of patient access to YRMC.
