YRMC’s Certified Car Seat Safety Lead Technician Recognized by National Child Safety Passenger Conference
(November 6, 2013 – Yuma, Arizona) – Donna Gradias, Childbirth Education Coordinator and Certified Car Seat Safety Lead Technician at Yuma Regional Medical Center (YRMC) was recently named a Car Seat Hero by Kidz in Motion, a non-profit corporation for child safety passenger professionals.
Gradias was one of 700 nominees. Fifteen of these 700 were named Car Seat Heros at the 2013 national conference in Florida.
"It's a happy day for me – I was thrilled just to be nominated," said Gradias. "I do this for the benefit of Yuma County families."
On average, 97 car seats are checked each month by Gradias. She is certified through the National Child Safety Passenger Certification program through the Yuma County Safe Kids program (a coalition of Safe Kids Worldwide).
"Donna's dedication to child safety has been ongoing for 24 years," said Dorie Rush, director of Labor, Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum (LDRP). "During this time, she has performed countless car seat safety checks for the patients of YRMC and families of Yuma County. She is truly a resource for our hospital and community."
