Yuma Regional Medical Center is a 406-bed, not-for-profit hospital dedicated to providing outstanding medical care to the residents of Yuma and the surrounding communities in southwestern Arizona. The YRMC team includes over 2,000 employees, 300 doctors and hundreds of volunteers who work closely together to create a welcoming, caring, and compassionate environment for patients and their families.

YRMC Celebrates Cancer Center Groundbreaking

The Yuma Regional Cancer Center groundbreaking on Friday, May 17, celebrated a multi-year dream to make world-class cancer care and treatments available in our community. The groundbreaking celebrated over 85 cancer survivors and their families. Survivors carried a flag of honor as part of the ceremony. These flags are now displayed on 24th Street at the site of the new cancer center as a visual reminder of the hope and promise they bring our community.

When the new cancer center opens in early summer 2014, it will usher in a new era for cancer care in our community. It will have triple the space, expanded services and additional physicians, allowing cancer patients to remain in Yuma – close to family and friends – with the latest diagnostic and treatment capabilities available, supported by our community.

The 38,000 square foot cancer center will feature comprehensive services under one roof. Seamless connections from one service to the next will ensure that care is delivered in the most efficient, personalized manner. Further enhancing the spectrum to services available to patients, is YRMC's membership in the Mayo Clinic Care Network. This provides cancer center physicians direct access to the latest Mayo Clinic expertise and clinical care resources, ensuring the Yuma community of the most current cancer diagnostic and treatment techniques.
