(July 18, 2012 – Yuma, AZ)– The Foundation of Yuma Regional Medical Center and its affiliates awarded 32 scholarships totaling $60,000 for the upcoming school year to students pursuing an education in healthcare.
Scholarships were made possible by Yuma Regional Medical Center Volunteer Services and employees, Bridget’s Gift Foundation, Foundation of YRMC’s Tractor Rodeo and donor directed memorial scholarship funds. “The need for health care professionals is growing and the Foundation is committed to both giving back to the community and providing support for the next generation of healthcare professionals,” says Foundation Executive Director, Wayne Steffey. “We are proud to support those dedicated to a lifetime of caring for others”.
Scholarships awarded this year included an array of fields such as, Nursing, Biomed Engineering, Anesthesiology, Pathology, Physical Therapy, Neuroscience, Nutritional Sciences, Kinesiology, Radiologic Technology, and Massage Therapy.
