After finishing her Internal Medicine Residency in Baltimore, MD, Dr. Elnadry came to Yuma in 1990 to work with the Indian Health Service at Fort Yuma Indian Hospital, followed by private practice for 10 years. From 2004-2014 she served as Medical Director for Hospice of Yuma, their first full-time Medical Director. In 2001, after completing the Faculty Scholar Program in Palliative Care Education and Practice at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Elnadry, along with a team from the Yuma Regional Medical Center Bioethics Committee, established the hospital’s Palliative Care Consultation Service, only the second such program in Arizona at the time.
Currently Dr. Elnadry serves as Director of Supportive/Palliative Care at Yuma Regional Medical Center. Her role is to develop palliative care programs, systems, and initiatives throughout the institution, and to provide education in palliative care principles and practices. She is developing clinical programs to provide symptom management and supportive care for patients at Yuma Regional greater Yuma community.
Dr. Elnadry also serves as Faculty for the Family and Community Medicine Residency Program at Yuma Regional Medical Center. She is developing educational programs to foster a strong focus on geriatric care, communication skills, effective pain and symptom management, and generalist palliative care principles. She enjoys gardening, and grows a variety of fruits, vegetables, and tropical fruits.
