Education & Professional Highlights

As non-surgical sports medicine specialist, Ryan Zerr, DO, helps patients get back to their quality of life after athletic and exercise-related injuries. His goal is to restore people to their level of activity prior to their sprain, strain, concussion or fracture.

Dr. Zerr is also the program director of the Yuma Regional Medical Center Sports Medicine Fellowship. He mentors fellows (doctors pursuing an extra year of training after residency) in non-surgical sports medicine. He also trains the doctors in the YRMC Family and Community Medicine in athletic and exercise injury care and concussion management.

Dr. Zerr earned his medical degree from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, MO. He completed his family medicine residency at Phoenix Baptist Hospital, in Phoenix, AZ and his sports medicine fellowship at the University of Nevada, Reno. He is board certified in family medicine with a certificate of added qualification in sports medicine.

Dr. Zerr likes spending time with his family and watching them participate in athletic, school and community events. He also enjoys weight lifting, travel and smoking ribs and pulled pork. He is a certified barbeque judge.
