Community Wellness Resources

At Yuma Regional Medical Center, we are deeply committed to providing members of our community with the resources, information and support they need to live a healthy lifestyle. Our wellness initiatives and resources include:

  • Healthy Kids Program - Yuma Regional Medical Center has partnered with Kohl's Cares to sponsor this six-week program that teaches kids healthy habits that will lead to a lifetime of health and wellness.
  • Silver Care Program - If you are a year-round Yuma resident or winter visitor who is over age 55, you are invited to join Silver Care, our free program that offers a comprehensive menu of health-related benefits
  • Healthy Kids in the Kitchen – The best way for kids to learn about nutrition, portion control and healthy recipes is through hands-on experience, and that’s exactly what they get in this fun summer program.
  • Community Health Improvement Plan – In order to help us understand the current and future health care needs for residents of Yuma County, we conduct a Community Health Needs Assessment. The information we learn enables us to develop a Community Health Improvement Plan that outlines our efforts to address critical healthcare issues that are impacting our community.
  • Healthy Workforce – This progressive workplace wellness is designed to assist Yuma-area businesses and organizations in helping their employees stay healthy, resulting in increased productivity and morale and reduced absenteeism and healthcare costs.
  • Speakers Bureau – Organizations or groups that need a speaker for an upcoming event can contact the Yuma Regional Medical Center Speakers Bureau to develop a program that will meet their specific needs.
  • Smoking Cessation Classes - The Yuma County Public Health Services District and Yuma Regional Medical Center have partnered to develop a free, one and a half hour class that offers the expertise and support you need to learn how to quit smoking for good.
  • CPR and First Aid Education Classes - As a service to the public and healthcare providers in our community, Yuma Regional Medical Center offers several BLS, ACLS, PALS and First Aid courses taught by instructors certified by the American Heart Association. For information please call 928-336-2915.
