Grant Opportunities

The McDaniel Endowment Legacy Fund of the Foundation of YRMC was established by Richard Michael McDaniel in memory of his parents, Ted and Stella McDaniel. Through his estate, Mr. McDaniel left a generous legacy to be used to further cancer treatment, research and education in Yuma, Arizona.

The Foundation of Yuma Regional Medical Center accepts applications October 1st through November 1st on an annual basis. The funds may be utilized for cancer research, medical equipment or other activities centered on the awareness, diagnosis and treatment of cancer in the Yuma community.

Deadline for Application: All grant applications are due by November 1st by 5:00p.m.  No applications will be accepted after the deadline.

General Criteria for ALL Grants:

  • Applicant must be a 501(c)(3) organization OR an organization that has a fiduciary arrangement with a 501(c)(3) organization
  • Individuals are NOT ELGIBLE for grant funding
  • Each award shall range between $1,000 and $25,000 annually
  • The number of grants awarded will vary depending on the number of requests received

Allowable Expenses:

  • Salaries and fringe benefits for program staff
  • Program supplies
  • Travel
  • Equipment
  • Clinical services or patient care costs
  • Medical or scientific research
  • Fellowships
  • Other direct program expenses
  • Indirect costs (Not to exceed 15% of direct costs)

Unallowable Expenses:

  • Political campaigns or lobbying
  • Debt reduction
  • Annual fundraising campaigns
  • Event sponsorships
  • Capital campaigns
