The Foundation of Yuma Regional Medical Center is proud to collaborate with two programs that provide vital financial support for our initiatives that focus on cancer education and treatment:
Bridget's Gift is a special fund honoring Yuma native and inspiration Bridget Martinez who was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer in 2008. She faced breast cancer the same way she faced any obstacle — with determination, a positive attitude and laughter. Throughout her journey, she touched countless lives and was a friend to everyone she met.
Bridget's wish was to give the gift of breast cancer education and resource awareness to her community. She wanted to develop funds for breast exams, resource programs and to lend financial support to patients and families affected by breast cancer. Bridget's fight will continue through Bridget's Gift and will help members of the community affected by this horrific disease. Her incredible spirit will live on through Bridget's Gift and through friends and family that carry out her dream. The Bridget’s Gift fund is managed by the Foundation of Yuma Regional Medical Center.
Benesch Art Collection
When Wayne Benesch decided to donate his late father’s artwork to the Foundation of Yuma Regional Medical Center in 2013, he knew it would leave a lasting legacy. Wayne’s father, Mr. Louis Benesch, was a skillful artist who used oils, pastels and watercolors to capture the essence of the ever-beautiful Southwestern landscape and culture.
Just as his father valued the unique beauty of the Southwest, Wayne Benesch also possesses a deep appreciation for our Southwestern community. His donation of art that is now available for purchase creates a special fund to benefit the Yuma Regional Medical Center Cancer Center. Not only does this generous contribution perpetuate a legacy for his father, but also the legacy of his own family. The Benesch’s hope that their contribution will serve as an inspiration for philanthropy within Yuma County and demonstrates the truly healing power of art for years to come.
We invite you to visit our online Benesch Art Gallery to see the extraordinary works of art that are available. Your purchase will benefit cancer care at the Yuma Regional Medical Center Cancer Center.
