Foundation of YRMC announces 5,284 backpacks donated this year
The Foundation of YRMC is pleased to announce that this year’s Drive for School Supplies resulted in 5,284 backpacks filled with much-needed school supplies being given to local students.
In addition to monetary gifts, Drive for School Supplies also received donations of school supplies, such as backpacks, crayons, markers, colored pencils, glue sticks, three-ring binders and dictionaries from our amazing community.
The Foundation of YRMC expresses its sincere thanks to the many volunteers, businesses and organizations throughout the community who helped to raise funds and collect school supplies. Without such incredible support, this community effort to supply students with the essentials to succeed in school would not be possible.
Drive for School Supplies began in 1999 with the goal of providing less fortunate children with school supplies needed to start the new school year. Requests for backpacks are received from schools throughout Yuma County.
