Diagnostic X-Rays

Diagnostic x-rays, which use a small amount of radiation to produce images of the inside of the body, are among the most commonly used diagnostic tools. They are used to evaluate a wide variety of illness and injuries, and x-rays are also used for specialized testing such as:

  • Bone Density (DEXA) Tests – A painless, non-surgical method used to measure a patient’s bone density and evaluate their risk for osteoporosis.
  • Fluoroscopy – A diagnostic tool that uses x-rays to produce real-time video images of the part of the body being evaluated.

In most cases, x-rays require little advance preparation other than wearing comfortable clothing and removing jewelry or other metal items so they won’t block the x-ray images.

Yuma Regional Medical Center offers diagnostic x-rays at the following locations:
  • Yuma Regional Medical Center Outpatient Diagnostic Imaging Center
  • Yuma Regional Medical Center Outpatient Diagnostic Imaging ProMed
  • Yuma Regional Medical Center Foothills Imaging Center
