Healthy Kids Program

Childhood is a critical period of growth, development and learning. Positive health behaviors — like getting enough sleep, eating nutritious foods and being physically active — can help prevent diseases and improve health outcomes for children. This multi-week program teaches kids about the importance of developing healthy habits and lifestyles.

Participants will learn how to make nutritious food choices, be physically active, understand their emotions and prepare healthy meals. Best of all, they will learn how to make small changes that lead to a lifetime of health and wellness!

Students will participate virtually for five weeks to learn all about eating healthy, staying active and developing lifelong healthy habits. Thanks to the generous donations to the Foundation of Yuma Regional Medical Center, this program is available at no cost to children ages 8 to 12 and their families.

Healthy Kids at Home is designed so you can follow along each week at your own pace. We will provide materials to each registered participant at the beginning of the five-week program. Weekly, two-way communication is built in to ensure a personalized and successful experience. Participants will be asked to engage with the program content at least once per week, and live learning sessions will be available during certain weeks.
