A third-generation physician, Dr. Edsel Sandoval chose to follow in his father’s and grandfather’s footsteps. Dr. Sandoval was born in Los Angeles and grew up in Tijuana, Mexico. Throughout his youth, his father provided him with opportunities to work in his clinic and experience the meaningful results of caring for patients. Those memories had an impact, and they weighed deeply on his decision to practice medicine.
After earning his medical degree from the University of Kansas, he completed his residency here in Yuma. Dr. Sandoval elected to stay and practice medicine in Yuma because of the bonds he forged here during his residency. He continues to embrace this community, which immerses him in his culture and fulfill one of his goals: to give back to his community.
In his free time, Dr. Sandoval plays soccer, goes to movies, spends time with his family, participates in mixed martial arts and exercises.
