This medically supervised program for outpatients is designed to optimize physical, psychological and social functioning for those with cardiac conditions and help you return to a healthy, active lifestyle.
A case manager helps to plan, organize, coordinate, monitor and evaluate services and resources for inpatient rehabilitation patients.
Education and counseling for inpatients helps to provide the tools needed for lifelong dietary changes that will improve and sustain health.
Therapy services are designed to assist in recovery from trauma injuries, joint replacement, amputation and other orthopedic injuries and conditions.
Provided in an outpatient setting, lymphatic manual therapy, compression bandaging and other therapy techniques are performed by specially trained physical therapists to address primary (congenital malformations of the lymphatic system) or secondary lymphedema that may result from removal or radiation of lymph nodes as part of cancer treatment.
Our occupational therapy team is made up of skilled professionals who use research and scientific evidence to create and implement interventions to improve each patient’s quality of life through activities of daily living. Our occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants use task analysis to identify barriers and seek to treat those barriers to restore function, or by adapting or modifying the task demands.
Our skilled physical therapy team cares for inpatients at Yuma Regional Medical Center performing evaluations and establishing plans of care to minimize dysfunction related to surgery, injury or disease. Therapists employ various techniques including exercise and other forms of physical activity to maximize physical function. Physical therapists may also recommend and train clients to use devices or bracing to aid recovery, improve functional performance, reduce pain or protect injured or surgically repaired areas.

Rehabilitation nursing care is provided to inpatients at Yuma Regional Medical Center/Southwest Rehab and at Yuma Rehabilitation Hospital.
Respiratory therapists provide care to rehab inpatients to address your individual care needs.
Medical speech-language pathologists work collaboratively with providers and nurses to treat speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders. They work with patients with various disorders, such as brain damage, stroke, seizure or cancer.
Physical therapy, for inpatients or outpatients, can help prevent injury or facilitate recovery from common injuries such as a sprain or strain and/or surgery following an acute sports injury.
