For the month of September, YRMC will go GOLD in honor of Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month. We’re partnering with AdvoKATE to gather for a heartwarming lighting ceremony to raise awareness and show support for pediatric cancer patients, survivors and their families.

The Cancer Center Serenity Garden will be bathed in a soft, golden glow as candles are lit and necklaces shine in unison to honor children and families who have faced a diagnosis of pediatric cancer. After the illumination, attendees will walk around the exterior of the hospital to the Emergency Department, which will also be illuminated in gold.

• Information & Resources: The Pediatric Oncology Committee will share some brief remarks and shed a light on the ongoing efforts to support our local families. A booth with information and resources will also be at the event.
• Prayer & Moment of Silence: YRMC Spiritual Care will lead a moment of prayer and remembrance, honoring the journeys of our courageous patients and their families.

This event marks the start of a month-long campaign to light the hospital gold each night as a tribute to Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month. The display visually represents the YRMC’s dedication to supporting families in our community, putting patients first, and its commitment to advancing healthcare.
