Yuma Regional Medical Center (YRMC) eased visitation restrictions from “moderate” to “minimal” levels this week, following a continued decrease in the number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19.
Visitation restrictions remain in place at YRMC’s main campus and facilities throughout Yuma County. The “minimal” tier of YRMC’s visitation plan allows visitors the most access within our three-tier visitation plan for the COVID-19 pandemic. Policies for each tier are tailored to the specific needs of each area and its patients. All visitors must still be 18 years or older.
YRMC uses visitation restrictions to protect the health of its patients, employees and community. Restrictions are adjusted to best fit current needs. As a healthcare facility, Yuma Regional Medical Center also continues to follow CDC guidelines requiring that all employees and visitors wear masks to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Masks continue to serve as a critical tool for protecting the health of our patients, employees and visitors to YRMC facilities.
Patients hospitalized in YRMC’s main bed tower (including ICU) are now allowed two visitors per day (one at a time). Visitation hours for those areas are 8 AM to 8 PM. Patients at YRMC’s outpatient clinics and facilities may bring one companion per visit.
Current visitation policies include:
- Emergency Department: One companion for duration of visit – all hours
- Surgery: Special exceptions only – all hours
- Cancer Center: One companion for clinic visits
- Labor and Delivery: 1 companion at a time – all hours
- NICU/Pediatrics: 2 parents or legal guardians – all hours
