Community | COVID-19

A Message from our President and CEO.

Dear Yuma Community,

Over the last two years we have experienced unprecedented times. I think we can all agree the pandemic has significantly altered our way of life. I’m writing to you to express our sincere gratitude for the privilege to serve as your healthcare provider, yet I also want to share the realities of what we are facing in our emergency room, clinics and hospital.

We continue to see a significant increase in the number of patients who are seeking care each day, both for treatment of COVID-19 and those who need us for many other critical health concerns. While we have continued to push through, it is important to remember healthcare providers are people too – they get sick, they hurt and they have families who need them. Our organization and care teams are not immune to staffing shortages, illness and severe burnout.

This pandemic is taking a toll on everyone and emotions are high. Now more than ever we are asking for your help as we work to support our collective passion to keep going. These are not ideal times, and we never want anyone to have to wait, however the realities we face are real and require a special level of compassion and heart.

On behalf of our YRMC care team, we ask for your patience and understanding. Healthcare professionals, noted as heroes, are now at the brink of exhaustion – they have worked overtime, held hands with patients who are scared and cried with families who could only FaceTime. Now, they need you.

Yuman Kindness
Every smile and word of encouragement is fuel to keep going.

We thank you for the support you have given our healthcare heroes and we look forward to continuing to serve this great community.

Sincerely,

Robert J. Trenschel, D.O.
